HOW TO BUILD THE GLOBE

You can build the globe on your own (the hands of a child are a bit small) or do it together with somebody else. If you need help, please look at this little film.

BUILD THE GLOBE

There are several ways to build the globe. Here is a brilliant one. Film by Julie Klein.

WHAT'S SO SPECIAL?

It is hopeless to figure out how to get from San Francisco to Tokyo on a 2D - flat - paper map. These cities seem to be in the western and the eastern “Ends of the world” respectively, and the conclusion is that you must cross the USA, the Atlantic and the European-Asian continent to get from one to the other. The map is a poor tool! In the same way, a flat color chart or fan deck does not give you knowledge of where each color “is” in relation to the others. Our 3D Color Theory Wheels are designed to develop your understanding of color, and make it possible to see, touch and grasp what hue, value and saturation really mean.

COLOR MADE SIMPLE

Kolormondo creates an understanding of color connections. By presenting colors in a physical and threedimensional form, our 3D color globe offers users a hands-on learning experience that facilitates the exploration of shades, the creation of harmonious color combinations, and an enhanced understanding of how colors can influence our experiences and environments. Kolormondo is a powerful educational tool for promoting color knowledge and creative color utilization in various contexts.

THE WORLD OF COLOR

In Kolormondo, the North Pole is white while the South Pole is black. Around the Equator, you find the most chromatic hues, those that constitute the color circle (first dimension = hue). The closer you go up to the North Pole the lighter they become, going south they darken (second dimension = value or lightness). Towards the globe’s core, colors become gradually less chromatic and eventually turn gray (third dimension = chroma). The gray scale is a column between the North and the South Pole.

We often get the reaction “Why didn't anybody do this before? It is so simple and obvious, yet both pretty and useful!”

THE CONCEPT

The concept has existed for hundreds of years, but it is only now, thanks to modern color research (Kolormondo is based on CMY, not RYB), that there is a product to be touched, played with, and learned from. Cyan blue, Magenta red and Yellow form a triangle on the Equator piece. All colors are created by mixing these three.

A COLOUR TOOL

Kolormondo is a tool for teaching and discussing color, to find a certain hue and to see color relations. It is a bridge between experts and beginners. That is what makes it so special!
